Isn’t it Lovely to Dream Big & Strategically? Special Guest: Desire Jansen

“Givers gain. If I walk into everything that I do in life with that mentality I will give as much as I possibly can and know that nothing is lost.”

Get ready to dream BIG as Tracy and Rachel welcome beloved local artist, entrepreneur, and massive inspiration Desire Jansen to the podcast! Dez shares her secrets (and superpowers!) for living a life of purpose through pursuing huge dreams with focused goals, while also reflecting on the ways her action-packed life led her to better understand her identity, invest in herself, and transform her passions and hobbies into successful businesses. Dez reveals what helped her shed a scarcity mentality to embrace a life of generosity and abundance and celebrates the rewards of giving back, including providing women with skillsets to make their own money and become empowered to make life-changing choices, such as walking away from unhealthy relationships and working fewer hours to enjoy more time with their families. Dez also powerfully shares about her time in Southern Florida in her 20’s where she overcame homelessness and recounts how she discovered her faith in God. Dez and Rachel evoke fond memories of inspirational school posters from the 1990’s, while Dez and Tracy discuss the finer points of Matthew McConaughey’s infamous bongo playing. Everyone agrees, yet again, that accents rule the day; Rachel and Tracy try to convince Dez that she should write a memoir.

Original artwork by Desire Jansen

Professionally, Desire Jansen started her career as an artist, working in graphite pencil and powder. After years of studying the bone structure of the face, making the move into cosmetic tattooing seemed like a natural step in the next direction. As a portrait artist, Dez was honored to commemorate loved ones by creating one-of-a-kind works of art to cherish forever. Through cosmetic tattooing, she now gets to experience the honor of restoring confidence, pride, and excitement for life.

Desire’s future adventures include dreaming big enough to scare herself, and she cannot express how excited she is to pursue passions within her current industry and support nonprofits in a BIG way.

On a personal note, Dez is a dreamer, an optimist, and a believer in people. She is a lover of laughter, learning, adventure, and coffee. She is generally a polite woman with just enough sass to get you to smile on a day you may have forgotten to.

Desire is the mother of a curious, kindhearted, wild little boy named Beckham. She loves seeing the world through his hazel eyes. Dez also has a daughter who has taken it upon herself to become the family comedian at 4 years old. She is the wife of an entrepreneur who taught her to overcome all obstacles and never look back.

Dez strives to live a life marked by kindness, courage, and compassion.
